A little geology….

Not only did I really like the flowers in Ventura, but I was also amazed at the different kinds of rocks that were in this one jetty that was across the street from the Channel Islands Visitor Center.  Often stone walls are made with whatever stone is native to the area, but look at the differences.  Some looks like conglomerate/puddingstone, some volcanic and some like granite with intrusions.  Take a peak….

And then there were these sculptures along the shoreline.  We saw some like these in Vancouver BC many years ago.

  2. Heh, they have a bunch of those stone piles scattered around beaches and mountains in Scotland too, some visitors have too much time on their hands lol
